American bullies are American pitbull terriers that have had another breed of dog added to their lineage to exaggerate specific desired features. Game bred American Pitbulls are generally lean, slender muscular dogs with tons of drive. Bullies come in a huge range of sizes and builds depending or their lineage.
XXL American bullies appear to be very large pitbull on steroids. In some cases it is believe that they were crossbred with various types of Mastiffs, American bulldogs or very large breeds of dogs. At bluefirepits we do not crossbreed under any circumstances. The problem is that when you continue to reintroduce the other breeds into your program it creates poorly bred dogs that can also inherit the negative qualities and health issues of the outside breed used. If this process was professionally done it would take a lot of time and research to be done correctly. XXL range in weight from 85lbs to 200lbs and are tall and heavily muscled. They have very large heads and wide chests and should not have difficulty swimming, running or breathing. They are highly intelligent and should have an even temperament. Although we have bred all sizes of pitbull we choose to breed XXL's. Discover more.
In the past I have bred quality pocket and exotic American bullies. Pocket bullies are a smaller version of the XXl weighing around 45lbs to 75lbs and standing under 14 inches tall at the withers. I have seen and produces some very healthy pocket pitbulls that could swim, run and play with minimal risk of a heat stroke. Pockets high energy but will do well in apartments as long as the receive adequate exercise.
Exotic American bullies are a beautiful blend of American Pitbulls and English or French bulldogs. They are generally under 14 inches tall with large heads and a very stock yet stubby build. They are accepted with or without a full tail. There are registries that support this breed and have family events and shows. I have owned and produced some very healthy exotics but due to the bulldog mixture they are very high maintenance and expensive especially when structuring a breeding program. Most Exotic bullies can only give birth by getting a c-section and require an immense amount of sleepless night weening the puppies. Exotic can be active but they are more of a designer breed which don't require much excercise. They do very well in apartments and are amazing companions. There is a very high amount of exotics that die from heat strokes due to an elongated soft tissue pallet most likely stemming from their crossbreeding.
Regardless of what style of american bully you choose to go with they all do well with a great diet, excercise and love. This breed is supported by many registries and can also be registered by the UKC. To learn more visit bluefirepits.com
